Below are a couple of photographs, along with technical details. Enjoy!

color photograph of Calistoga geyser
Calistoga Geyser, 1985

This is a periodic geyser located near Calistoga, California. It was shot on 4x5 Fujichrome 50 using a Nikon 90mm lens with a 1B filter on February 18, 1985. Exposure was 1/30 second at f/32. Camera adjustment was a 19mm front rise. Standard E-6 processing was used.

Black & white photograph (on infrared-sensitive film) of New York City's Central Park lake
IR lake, 1985

Part of the lake in New York City's Central Park. Shot on 4x5 Kodak High speed Infrared film 4143 on July 27th, 1985 using a 450mm Nikon M-series apochromat with an 88A filter. A 23mm front rise was used. Exposure was set at 1/4 second at f/16, which was too much. After developing in ID-11, it was necessary to treat the negative in Farmer's reducer for 1 minute to remove excess density. Correct exposure (which is difficult to get exactly right for IR film) probably should have been at most half of that given.

Both images above are JPEG compressed 640x480 pixel images.  Higher quality images using AT&T's DjVu technology are available here. You'll need the DjVu plugin to view them.
