Guilty . "John Hughson and his wife Sarah were executed on June 12. They were being executed abetting and counselling the negroes into burning down the town and conspiring to kill the white inhabitants; for entertaining them with meat, drink, and lodging. Each of them were sentenced to be hanged by the neck and afterwards John Hughson to be hung in chains. Just to be made examples of."
