TIFFANY HOT AIR HEATER
A number of hot air and hot water heaters were available for the Model A Ford. The most common heater for a Model A is the Autolite hot air heater that is reproduced today. One of the lesser known hot air heaters is the Tiffany heater made by the Tiffany Casting Company, St. Louis, Missouri. An example of the Tiffany heater is shown below.

The picture on the left shows an original Tiffany heater made for a 1930/31 Model A that
was found at Fall Hershey in 1998. It is complete except for missing a small
connecting pipe made of flexible steel (not shown). The bottom diagram illustrates
the installation of the heater on the Model A Ford. The fresh air intake provides
air to the heat exchanger mounted around the muffler downpipe. The heated air is
transmitted through the flexible connecting pipe to an outlet in the floor plate.
The picture on the right shows a close-up of the floor plate that fits around the
transmission shifter and has an opening for the parking brake. Although it appears
blurred in the photograph, the Tiffany logo is crisp and easy to read on the plate.
The Tiffany logo is also embossed on the heat exchanger.
