ACCESSORY SWITCH
The design of the Model A Ford dash rail and placement of the
fuel tank leaves little room for the installation of accessories, especially items that
need to be within reach such as switches. Below is an accessory switch that was
designed for the Model A Ford. This interesting item was discovered on Ebay by Mr.
James Mason. Jim is a Model A owner from Michigan's upper peninsula and frequently
provides leads to interesting accessories.

The switch was made by the Joseph Pollack
Tool and Stamping Company in Boston, Massachusetts. It is a push-pull type switch
that can be used for turning on and off accessories such as fog light, heater blowers,
etc. The switch is mounted by a bracket that has a single hole. A dash rail
mounting screw is removed, the switch placed against the dash rail and the screw
re-installed. No additional holes or hardware are required. A terminal
on the rear of the switch is used to connect to the vehicle's electrical system.
Below is a picture of the original box that shows a typical mounting in the Model A ford.
