ANTI-RATTLE SPRINGS

With the mechanical brake system on the Model A Ford, a common problem was the noisy rattle of the metal  brake rods.  One way to overcome noisy brake rods was to install anti-rattle springs.  Below is a set of anti-rattle springs manufactured by by the APCO Mossberg Corporation in Attleboro, Massachusetts.  APCO made many accessories for the Model A Ford.  The springs came in three sizes and clipped onto the brake rod and chassis.

The springs still mounted in their original packaging are provided by Mr. Ron "Rainmaker" Cloat of Peoria, Illinois.    Ron is the owner of Standard Auto Parts, a supplier of Model A Ford replacement parts and frequently provides leads to interesting accessories.
