CATHEDRAL

The Cathedral is so named because its shape is said to look like a Cathedral.  It was a very popular option that was available in Australia for Model A Fords (they were also used cars use on other than Fords). Some owners install the Cathedral on the rear fenders of two door Model As for appearance. However, the Cathedral was originally meant for four door cars to protect the rear fenders from being kicked and scratched when passengers get into the rear seat.  An example of the Cathedral mounting is shown below.

Glen Williams, a Model A collector and tour business owner from Gawler, South Australia provided the pictures and information on the Cathedral.   Glen is a member of the South Australia Model A Ford Club and has a great website listed in the Links page.
