NEWCOMER MINISTRY

ATTENTION NEWCOMERS!!

Looking for just the right church to facilitate with or join?  You have come to the right one at The Church of the Ascension!  We are family oriented, but still have plenty of room for anyone, young or old, male or female, regardless, of ethnic background, and interested in experiencing a real Christian and loving fellowship.

The place to worship is of course in the church itself.  The place to get acquainted is during the "Refreshment Hour" after the 10:30 service.  Coffee, tea, juice for the kids and refreshments are available.  A nicer, more friendly group of people you'll not find anywhere else.

We have interesting programs for all age groups - Sunday School, baptisms, choirs, bell ringers, acolytes (both sexes), very active youth groups, Bible and book studies, layreaders, altar guild, and vestry opportunities.  Outreach too!  The church is host to many community groups, has a food locker for the unfortunate, participates in "Christmas in April' and H.O.P.E. programs, and supports missionary work in Honduras.  We also support the Three Oaks Homeless Shelter for Men.  The Episcopal Church Women hosts lunches for fund raising.  The Altar Guild keeps the sanctuary in good shape, and the Clerk of the Works has plenty of part-time jobs for volunteer to help maintain and improve the building.

Come, join us, share your talents and enjoy real, loving, active Christian fellowship' See you in Church!

The Newcomer Ministry works to welcome new  and prospective parishioners to the church. Please contact Karol Wolgemuth via the church office at 301-863-8551 if you wish to help with this important ministry of welcoming newcomers to our parish. A newcomer party is planned during the year for all new members to come together and get to know each other. Get involved - join the fun!
