ANC 2E has several committees to work on matters of community interest. Membership in committees is open to all residents of the ANC 2E region; all ANC 2E commissioners are ex officio members of all committees. The 2000–2002 Chair of the public safety committee is Justin Wagner (321-0783). Regular committee meetings are held monthly, and include one or both of the Lieutenants commanding PSA 205 and PSA 206. The Metropolitan Police Department divides the District of Columbia into seven police districts. ANC 2E is located in the Second District, which essentially encompasses the westernmost part of the city. Regular police services in the District of Columbia are provided within georgraphically defined Patrol Service Areas, or PSAs (some may prefer to think of them as "precincts"), commanded by a Lieutenant. The Foxhall-MacArthur area is within PSA 203; this area has been redistricted into Ward 3, and will no longer be in ANC 2E after January 2003. The remainder of ANC 2E is either in PSA 205 or PSA 206. The area of each PSA is described below.
Burleith, Hillandale, northern Georgetown, and the Georgetown University campus are in Patrol Service Area 205. Click to visit the PSA 205 web site.
