Planning the Final Webpage for the School Homepage to include a title,
photo, paragraph about your class or program, hot links to the Internet,
and a link back to the school homepage index
l. Warmup: Open Claris Draw or Paint or Kid Pix on your Hard drive and draw a picture that is related somewhat to your interests or student projects. A long narrow picture will be an effective banner. Save your picture for later (remember what you called it).
2. Class Opening: Open Session Four in your course syllabus using Netscape (http://www.erols.com/allnutt). Discuss objectives.
3. First Activity: Look at the Questions and Answers handout to review what we have learned so far. Open up your webpage from the server. Add one piece to your document. Now we are going to learn to make our own graphics rather than get them from the Internet.
Teacher or student Computer-created Art: See the directions from the Q and A sheet. Begin by opening your Kid Pix drawing your made earlier today.
4. Second Activity: Describe stations for other Graphics. The scanner will be available to make a jpg file out of a student picture. We will not be scanning in Book or magazine pictures since we do not have copyright privileges. We will practice with the Apple Quicktake digital camera, including taking photos, downloading the photos to the computer, looking at photos we have created and renaming them, adding photos to our webpages.
5. Third Activity: Take personal time with a clipboard and blank paper to make a plan sheet to redesign your final project webpage. You may need to totally create a new webpage, or work with the one your have started. See the Sample Webpage developed for you as a guideline.
Now work on your newly redesigned Webpage.
Bonus: Go to the VSTE presentations page and find the Christiansburg School Homepage. Its terrific.
