• Teachers use the 4MAT  Wheel when planning a Thematic Unit which engages the four types of learners (ones who want to see the connection to themselves, twos who want information, threes who like to mess around and fours who help pull things together with drama and gusto
• Thematic Unit planning incorporates Student Learning Styles: visual learners, auditory learners, hands-on learners
• Teachers include many of Gardner's Eight Intelligences when planning lessons and outcomes
• Active learning increases student time-on-task
• Fewer transitions increases student time-on-task
