AFIA Membership

Classes of Membership

The Aerial Firefighting Industry Association has two classes of membership: a voting membership consisting of companies operating multi-engine airtankers, helitankers, and single engine airtankers, and a non-voting, sustaining membership consisting of companies or individuals who desire to support the objectives of the Association and receive information on Association activities. Each voting member is entitled to the number of votes determined by the following formula: one vote for each membership dues, and one vote for each exclusive use federal or state contract of a duration of at least 90 days. For the purposes of determining the number of votes for each company, an exclusive use contract is defined as one (1) exclusive use contract for 90 days or more, or a combination of exclusive use contracts per aircraft per year that total 90 days or more. The basic membership fee is $1000 per year for dues, and $1000 for each exclusive use federal or state contract that meets the 90-day vote qualifying criteria just described.
