FOUNDED:
In 1969 by co-owners Dan Hawkins and Gene Powers. Hawkins & Powers (H&P) Aviation evolved from Chrysler-Avery Aviation, a company specializing in aerial firefighting and agriculture spraying since 1958.

GENERAL:
A pioneer in aerial firefighting techniques and training with over 40 years experience in the business, H&P has developed into a world leader in computer controlled aerial retardant application systems and aerial firefighting expertise. H&P designs and engineers all modifications to H&P aircraft. The company performs extensive research and development in the field of aerial firefighting equipment, which has resulted in superior aerial firefighting platforms and applications systems. H&P holds a number of FAA certificates and several supplemental type certificates. H&P is experienced with hazardous materials and has a FAA Certificated HAZMAT program.

COMPANY OPERATION:

IMPROVEMENTS/INNOVATIONS:
H&P is currently in the process of converting a radial engine powered P-2V aircraft to a turbine powered configuration with a state of the art electronics (glass) cockpit. H&P developed the first computer-controlled retardant drop system which will be used in this airtanker.
