Machingo Abalos

Machingo was born in La Plata, the capital of the province of Buenos Aires, on the 18th of March 1913. At the age of two his parents returned to Santiago del Estero, where he was raised and nurtured in the traditions of Santiago. He attended the Universidad de Odontologia de Rosario. He withdrew in his last year and begun the path that lead to the formation of The Hermanos Abalos. He is the dancer and master of ceremonies for the group and plays many instruments, especially the charango. He married Rosa Abramo, (now deceased) who was the first female dancer with the Hermanos Abalos. He has two daughters, Cristina and Helvecita, and many grandchildren.
